His attention to detail extends to the camping equipment used on our trek — on earlier treks the camping equipment was basic, but now he provides walk-in tents with comfortable camp beds, electric lights, and wonderful food prepared by a chef from one of Bhutan’s leading hotels.

Such constant improvement is important, since the travel industry in Bhutan is going through some difficult times, and the standard of guides and drivers varies.

Tashi is smart, approachable, and efficient. He is a wonderful communicator, and knows the travel business well — he did a graduate degree in travel management at an Australian university.

He is flexible — he understands our requests and makes sure that our trips meet our needs.

During our most recent visit, in November 2022, we travelled with three other couples, all experienced travelers. Each couple had some special requests regarding interests and itineraries, and Tashi made sure everything went smoothly. They too were delighted with Tashi’s service.
